TV4RV Announces Heavy-Duty Tripod with Built-In System for Aiming HD Satellite Dishes

GRANTS PASS, OR April 9, 2009 -- TV4RV has introduced a new Heavy-Duty Tripod specifically designed for easy support and aiming of HD satellite dishes. The aluminum tripod supports dishes with a mast size of either 1 5/8" or 2" diameter and a weight of up to 35 pounds.

The new tripod features the exclusive H&G eZEE-AIM Tripod System and Coleman Lensatic Compass (News - Alert), which allow users to adjust their dishes to within two to three degrees of the correct azimuth each time the dish is aimed. It will accommodate most brands of satellite dishes.

"Most people make the mistake of holding the compass near the dish and try to point the dish in the same direction the compass needle is pointing," said George Guevin, founder and president of TV4RV. "The dish is made of steel, which deflects the compass needle a bit, and gives a false reading. That is why the satellite never seems to be exactly where you point the dish. Our alignment systems use the compass to pre-align our aluminum tripod, well away from the dish, and give a very accurate alignment. When mounted, the dish is generally within two to three degrees of being 'dead-on' the first time." The Heavy-Duty Tripod was manufactured for TV4RV by CST/Berger, a leading manufacturer of industrial tripods and surveying equipment. The mast assembly has a center core of galvanized steel and is clad in layers of all-weather PVC. The mast comes set up for a 2" diameter dish but easily converts to accommodate the 1 5/8"mast size. Each leg adjusts in length individually, making it easy to level the tripod's mounting platform using the circular bubble level supplied. The tripod is securely anchored with the tie-down stake and heavy-duty bungee cord supplied or using other non-ground penetrating methods described in the instructions.

The tripod folds to a compact size of 38" X 6" X 6" and adjusts in height from 34" to 61" with a 32" leg spread. The legs may be extended with a wider stance for greater stability in high-wind areas.
