Teradata and SAS chosen by Italian social security agency

(Telecomworldwire Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Enterprise data warehousing provider Teradata Corporation (NYSE:TDC) and business analytics software and services provider SAS announced on Thursday that Italian social security agency INPS has selected and implemented a combined Teradata and SAS enterprise data warehouse (EDW) and analytics system.

No financial details were disclosed.

According to the company, the Teradata data warehouse, coupled with the SAS analytic solution, will help INPS and its users analyse large sets of detailed data linked to millions of health insurance claims, patient experiences, doctors, hospitals, treatments and procedures to gain insight into trends, costs and quality of care.

With the help of the INPS-designed statistical models, combined with the Teradata data warehouse and the capabilities of the SAS Analytics platform, the agency expects to better manage the medical inspection visits strategy and anticipates cost reductions while enhancing effectiveness.
