GroveWare Technologies Announces the Launch of a Nation-wide Project With the United States Department of Agriculture's National Soil Survey Center

TORONTO, ONTARIO, Oct 2, 2012 (Marketwire via COMTEX) -- GroveWare Technologies Ltd. (OTCQB:GROVD) has announced that it has finalized an agreement with the United States Department of Agriculture's (USDA) Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) to commence the introduction of GroveWare's mobile inspection MobiTask(TM) solution to the NSSC's network of soil scientists stationed across the county.

The USDA's current processes are mostly paper-based and budget and efficiency considerations encourage that more cost-efficient methods be used to collect and communicate data collected by soil scientists during their field investigations of the nation's soil resources. The opportunity was introduced to GroveWare by its channel partner, Verizon Wireless, and the carrier has greatly assisted the project since the initial pilot was launched earlier this year. A series of webinars, a few days of rapid prototype development and a presentation by GroveWare to the management team at the National Soil Survey Center's head office in Lincoln Nebraska, rapidly led to the conclusion that MobiTask(TM) was vastly superior to other solutions being considered and a fast-track testing and implementation plan was finalized. David Hoover, National Leader for Soil Business Systems, has championed the introduction, testing and certification process within the USDA, and is confident of the cost and productivity enhancements available from GroveWare's out-of-the-box mobile solutions.

Earlier this month, the NSSC released a bulletin to the teams of 500 soil scientists operating in the states and announced the availability of MobiTask and of the first two data collection forms that can be completed using the MobiTask solution. Scientists will now be able to complete site observations and source information using an iPad(R), iPhone(R) or any other tablet or smartphone. A full national webinar and formal launch is now scheduled for early this fall.

"This is wonderful opportunity for GroveWare to showcase the advantages of its MobiTask solution to other divisions of the USDA and within the federal government as a whole," comments Hrair Achkarian, GroveWare's CEO. "Dave Hoover was quick to grasp the ability of technology to resolve challenges within his agency and we are very pleased that MobiTask has been selected as the chosen solution." "The Soil Science Division (of the USDA) recognized that there are many numerous methods for field data collection," says Hoover. "The MobiTask option is in response to the growing demand for field portability of data collection devices. With the use of the GroveWare solution, and apps designed and customized to our specific needs, our data collectors can now also make good use of the built-in camera and GPS capability of a lightweight field data collection device." A delighted David Hoover has added, "I look forward to NRCS soils and ecological data collection moving into the wireless world!" About GroveWare Technologies Ltd.
