IMTC Announces 20th Annual SuperOp! Multimedia Products and Services Interoperability Testing Event

The International Multimedia Telecommunications Consortium (News - Alert) (IMTC) announces that SuperOp! 2015 will be held May 15 - 23, 2015, at the Porto Palacio Hotel in Porto, Portugal. SuperOp! is open to all interested parties and is the premier international multimedia telecommunications standards and products interoperability testing event of the year that brings the industry together to further improve collaboration experiences for end users.

Organized and conducted annually by the IMTC, SuperOp! hosts the leading companies developing multimedia telecommunications products and services worldwide. Participants include multimedia communications equipment manufacturers, protocol stack vendors, network infrastructure vendors, and device manufacturers.

SuperOp! is well-known throughout the industry for enabling unprecedented opportunities to perform rigorous multivendor and multiprotocol interoperability testing and is a "must-do" event for any company developing new products, services and feature releases.

Testing will include communication technologies such as WebRTC, H.264 (AVC and SVC), H.265 HEVC SVC, SIP over IPv6, SIP and H.323 videoconferencing, telepresence/TIP, Packet Switched Streaming (PSS), including HTTP and MPEG-DASH streaming, IMS, VoLTE, RCS, video over LTE (News - Alert), and many others. Because of this diversity of equipment, protocols and vendors, it is not practical or economical for a single organization to duplicate such a large-scale and broad test lab environment.

SuperOp! provides a unique opportunity to any company that produces multimedia communications solutions to test interoperability of their products and services at an unprecedented level. The SuperOp! Rules of Engagement ensure that all tests are performed in confidence and no specific test results will be publicized.

"Duplicating the wide diversity of equipment, protocols and vendors available at SuperOp! would be extremely costly and impractical for any company to do in its own test lab," said Anatoli Levine, IMTC President and Director of Product Management for Spirent Communications (News - Alert). "We strongly encourage and invite IMTC members to participate and for non-member companies to apply to participate as well."

Premier sponsors this year already include Cisco, Polycom (News - Alert) and Vidyo, and a variety of cost-effective sponsorship opportunities are still available. SuperOp! sponsorship is a great way for companies to position themselves as leaders in the multimedia telecommunications industry and show their commitment to standards and interoperability.
