NetCracker to Showcase Blueprint for Transitioning to SDN/NFV for CSPs at Mobile World Congress 2015NetCracker Technology announced today that it will highlight its new joint software-defined networking (SDN) and network functions virtualization (NFV) initiative with its parent company, NEC (News - Alert), at Mobile World Congress 2015, which is set for March 2-5 in Barcelona, Spain. Launching a New Brand and Initiative NEC and NetCracker (News - Alert) recently unveiled its new network and infrastructure virtualization initiative, which will be led by the new brand and organization, "NEC/NetCracker SDN/NFV Solutions." This joint initiative brings together NEC's network expertise and NetCracker's IT leadership to deliver cutting-edge virtualized solutions to communications service providers (CSPs) around the world. NEC/NetCracker SDN/NFV Solutions will combine NEC's and NetCracker's research and development, delivery, marketing and sales efforts to operationalize network and infrastructure virtualization, generate new revenue streams and enable a new level of customer experience. Operationalizing Use Cases for Virtualization Together NEC and NetCracker are leading the way in operationalizing and monetizing network and infrastructure virtualization. The blueprint being introduced at Mobile World Congress (News - Alert) covers a range of use cases, such as vCPE, vEPC and vIMS, for operationalizing hybrid infrastructure. NEC/NetCracker SDN/NFV Solutions recently completed a highly successful vCPE trial at Telekom Austria Group, demonstrating the solution's ability to instantiate, orchestrate and control third-party VNFs for on-demand applications. Evolving the Foundational Role of Orchestration As part of its solution demonstration, NetCracker will underscore how orchestration is becoming the keystone in enabling the next generation of service management. As new services emerge, pressuring operators to develop cutting-edge traffic, network and customer optimization strategies, management and orchestration (MANO) solutions will take on the role of establishing end-to-end visibility and control. NetCracker will also showcase and discuss how orchestration complements its market-leading BSS/OSS solutions to drive broader service and revenue management strategies for operators around the world. Underscoring BSS/OSS Market Leadership NetCracker will spotlight its continued ability to lead the communications market forward in both BSS and OSS domains. In Barcelona, NetCracker will feature several major customer wins, including its comprehensive managed billing partnership with a leading mobile operator in Asia.
