Stream's vision of heterogeneous IoT Networks offering connectivity options for ALL IoT use case requirements on one simple and easy-to-use platform is now possible. The addition of LPWA will ensure that the applications requiring low power, long range and low cost can be simply added to existing IoT networks.

The multi-network functionality of the IoT-X platform enables connectivity for any device regardless of network type - allowing customers to reach beyond the gateway to the sensor level and provides a single, unified view of every relevant connection, whether it be satellite, cellular or LPWA. Subscriber management, billing, and advanced data routing capabilities for all network types. Private or public networks with multi-tenants and unlimited customer segmentation can all be managed, monitored and monetized - simplifying the complex.

Customers with existing cellular and/or satellite IoT networks who want to incorporate LPWA solutions, can simply add IoT-X to their existing IoT platform and manage all of their connectivity through a single unified interface. Stream has already completed the full network integration and is the first to add Carrier Grade network functionality for LoRaWAN.

Stream is a Contributor level member of the LoRa Alliance with Tracy Hopkins, SVP of Low Power Radio Networks sitting as the Chair of the Markeing Committee. We believe in the mission of the Alliance to standardize LPWAN, to ensure interoperability and to enable a vast eco-system of production ready IoT products that address the multitude of applications emerging in this Market of Markets. "Stream's carrier grade IoT-X platform and solution will enable and accelerate the deployments of LPWAN", says Hardy Schmidbauer, Director of Wireless Products at Semtech. "The interoperability of Stream's solution with the different hardware vendors combined with the vast number of LoRaWan sensor solutions available from LoRa Alliance members will maximize network deployment return on investment".

Stream is dedicated to offering our customers maximum choice of LPWA technologies. Other narrow band and wide band access technologies will also be available on IoT-X. Integrating new network technologies is an expensive proposition costing valuable resources, time, and money for network operators. IoT-X has a flexible, low cost, use-based, IoT scale business model. Stream has eliminated the unknowns and risk for Network Operators adopting LPWA technologies. IoT-X makes it simple to deploy 'proof of concepts' with one or multiple LPWA technology providers. Stream enables choice for our customers and reduces the friction of operating multiple network technologies.

"Low power radio is an integral part to our solution set", said Stream CEO Nigel Chadwick (News - Alert), "No one technology is going to easily meet the requirements of all the different IoT solutions. We made the decision to support all of these networks and treat them as just another form of connectivity to help our customers move easily from cellular applications to low power alternative. "

According to Jim Morrish of Machina Research, "The LPWA space is growing extremely fast. It was early 2013 when Machina Research identified this space, and since then it has developed to the point where it is squarely on the CxO agenda for any service provider participating in the IoT, and many enterprises. LPWA technologies will transform the IoT marketplace by virtue of their potential to support low cost, out of the box connectivity allied with a very long battery life. For Stream Technologies to take steps to integrate such technologies into their connectivity proposition is therefore a natural development. But to make such a capability available via a software update for existing clients really underlines the unique proposition that Stream Technologies brings to market."
