iBasis Agrees to Sell SMS Business to MessageBird and Partner on Future Business


iBasis (News - Alert), a KPN company, and MessageBird today announced a definitive agreement to sell the iBasis A2P & P2P SMS hubbing business to MessageBird, an innovative communications services company based in Amsterdam. The agreement also establishes a partnership for future business opportunities.

The transfer of iBasis' SMS business, including customer and vendor relationships, expands MessageBird's global reach in the messaging landscape. iBasis, a leading international provider of wholesale voice and mobile data services, has over the last two years increased its focus on emerging 4G services such as LTE (News - Alert) roaming and VoLTE.
