Allied Telesis Wins Multiple First Place Awards for its Secure Enterprise SDN Solution at NFV Europe 2017


SAN JOSE, Calif., June 13, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Allied Telesis, a leading provider of hardware and software products that allow customers to build secure, feature-rich and scalable data exchange solutions, enjoyed considerable success at the recent NFV Europe awards presentation by collecting two first place prizes and a runner up prize for its Secure Enterprise SDN (SES™) network management and security solution. SES was developed by Allied Telesis to enable enterprises to access the many the benefits that SDN promises but without the complexity and cost of developing their own solutions.

The NFV Europe conference is the premier event in Europe to showcase and discus network virtualization technology. The purpose of the event is to enhance and expedite service delivery and creation through SDN and virtualized networks, by discussing use cases exploring the benefits and challenges associated with the commercial deployment of NFV and SDN. Major sponsors of the event include Huawei, Oracle, Intel, VMware, IBM, Fortinet, and Palo Alto. Since the event is primarily focused on NFV solutions, the major network operators were also well represented: Telefonica, Verizon, Vodafone, British Telecom and Orange.

Naka City, located in the Kanto region of Japan, north-west of Tokyo, selected SES in 2016 after a public tender process to identify new security solutions that would keep public records safe. The Naka City hall manages the public computer network for the schools and various local government offices and public buildings, providing both wired and wireless access for the city's residents. This network allows users to access personal data such as their social security and tax information. SES was deployed in 39 locations over a 2-week period, and the system was officially commissioned after a successful 1-week trial.
