Local Company RCS Logistics Files Lawsuit Alleging Global Corporate Raiding And Theft

Seeks $250 Million in Damages Incurred Through Scheme Hatched by Competitor and Former Employees to Steal Business

JERSEY CITY, N.J., July 28, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- RCS Logistics, a family-owned logistics and shipping business established, built, and run by Patrick Heaney and his son Brian, today announced the filing of a lawsuit seeking $250 million in damages resulting from a deceitful plot by global shipping giant Expolanka USA LLC, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Sri Lankan Expolanka Holdings PLC, whose majority shareholder is the Japanese company SG Holdings to raid approximately 50 employees from RCS.

In the complaint filed on June 19, 2017 in Hudson County Superior Court in New Jersey, RCS has claimed $250 million in damages against the New York-based Expolanka for its direct and purposeful attack on the business operation of RCS.  Also named in the lawsuit are some of the former RCS employees who resigned en masse in June to join Expolanka, as part of a concerted effort to wrongfully take the assets of RCS.  As part of its filing, RCS sought, and the Court has granted, RCS' request for immediate injunctive relief against Expolanka and the individual defendants in light of and to restrain their alleged misconduct.
