Ingate Systems to Present at WebRTC Conference & Expo

Ingate Systems CEO Karl Stahl to Present on “Realistic Future Service Provider Opportunities” at WebRTC Conference & Expo November 2013

STOCKHOLM – October 30, 2013 – Ingate® Systems, a developer of secure Enterprise Session Border Controllers (E-SBCs) and firewalls that allow the best of SIP- and WebRTC-based quality multimedia real-time communication and SIP trunking globally beyond the protected enterprise network, will be presenting at the WebRTC Conference & Expo to be held November 19-21, 2013 at the Santa Clara Convention Center in Santa Clara, CA.

Ingate CEO Karl Stahl’s session will address the potential for WebRTC to disrupt service providers’ current revenue models, and how the advent of new real-time communications over IP – new telephony, naturally including high-quality voice and video – serving as an adjunct to applications, open new capabilities and billing models.

Network service providers’ income from telephony services continues to be a less important part of the total broadband delivery and that trend will accelerate with WebRTC.

Stahl will discuss whether network service providers can offer more than just raw data bandwidth, now when WebRTC brings high-quality person-to-person communication to everyone on a massive scale. Higher quality requires more from the network and brings value to the customers.

Ingate Systems develops firewalls and access routers that give WebRTC, or any real-time communication using the ICE standard for NAT/firewall traversal, priority over data traffic. That advances the telepresence capability of WebRTC and smartphones, pads and PCs.

The Ingate firewall and access router technology called Q-TURN includes the TURN and STUN servers required by the ICE standard to make real-time traffic go through firewalls as a global service, while real-time traffic can be prioritized and traffic-shaped over the data traffic. That is important when stepping up from 3.5 kHz telephony voice to potentially telepresence HiFi- and HD-quality using WebRTC.

Network service providers using Ingate’s Q-TURN technology can offer high-quality WebRTC-ready access without investing in new bandwidth and also count real-time usage differently from data usage in new attractive price plans for their customers.
