Christos Kolias, Research Scientist at Orange Announced as a Speaker at Software Telco Congress

Norwalk, CT – November 13, 2013 – TMC today announced that Christos Kolias, a senior research scientist at Orange Silicon Valley (a subsidiary of Orange) and  industry pioneer in Network Function Virtualization (NFV), will be speaking at the upcoming Software Telco Congress, being held November 20-21, 2013, in Santa Clara, California.

On Wednesday, November 20, at 10:00 a.m., conference attendees will have the opportunity to hear from Kolias on the first steps of becoming a software telco. With network hardware being released as software, service providers are able to experience increased benefits, including decreased time to market for services and cost savings. Software Telco Congress brings together industry experts looking to learn the latest about this emerging trend.

Kolias comes to Software Telco Congress with more than 15 years of experience in networking and is currently heading up Orange’s software-defined networking (SDN) project. Kolias chairs the ONF’s Wireless & Mobile working group and is also a founding member of the ETSI NFV group, who recently released industry specifications that pave a clear path for carriers to make NFV a reality.

“Kolias has a unique perspective on the industry and how to tackle implementing this new and disruptive technology,” said Rich Tehrani, TMC CEO. We’re thrilled to have him share his first hand experiences with NFV and explain how it will impact the future of the carrier market.”

Software Telco Congress is supported by Diamond Sponsors Metaswitch, ADTRAN and Alcatel-Lucent; Platinum Sponsors GENBAND, Saisei and Sansay; Gold Sponsors Lemko and Netronome; and Bronze Sponsor Porta One.
