WebRTC's First Full Market Analysis by Disruptive Analysis Now Available from Research and Markets

The momentum the still young WebRTC market has gained in just a few short months has been astounding, demonstrating the immense potential of the technology. If major players like Google and the Mozilla Corporation throwing their weight behind WebRTC wasn't enough, the market's legitimacy was recently further cemented by the release of a new research report.

The report, entitled "WebRTC Market Status & Forecasts: The Hype is Justified: It will Change Telecoms," was written by Disruptive Analysis and was recently added to Research and Markets' offering. The first full analysis of the WebRTC market and value chain to date, this 160-page report features commentary, analysis, forecasts and over 50 tables and charts, in addition to discussion of more than 70 companies involved with WebRTC.

The report identifies WebRTC as "one of the most disruptive Web/telecoms innovations in years," while discussing the extremely fast-paced evolution of the technology. In terms of companies, the report points out that while giants such as Microsoft and Apple seem slow to adopt WebRTC, they are also unlikely to cause significant roadblocks to its overall adoption.

Of course, the report also includes market predictions, stating that, despite zero percent PC penetration by the end of this year, there will be three billion WebRTC capable devices in the world by 2016 and one billion individual users.

Key topics discussed include "WebRTC vs. Flash/Plug-ins," regulatory considerations, WebRTC APIs, Apple with WebRTC and Microsoft with WebRTC.

In other recent WebRTC news, Systemwide Media and PKE Consulting announced the members of the Inaugural Advisory Board in February as part of this the upcoming WebRTC Conference and Expo this June. The Advisory Board is made up of industry experts, advocates and entrepreneurs that are focused on WebRTC.

More recently, it was discovered that some Android devices and Macbooks can already communicate with each other via WebRTC, provided the Android user downloads the latest Chrome Beta version and the Macbook user is running the latest production build of Chrome.
