Blue Jeans Launches Version 2.0

Blue Jeans has been going strong for a while now, and is celebrating with the release of version 2.0. After two consecutive years of record growth, it’s bringing in the latest version of its online video conferencing tool, with new features and enhancements to make it even easier to meet and conference through the cloud.

Blue Jeans can host meetings on practically any device and endpoint, thanks to cloud technology, and has tapped into the need for face-to-face video conferencing. Along with its recently announced “All You Can Meet” plan, it’s now bringing in new features to meet the needs of business users and IT administrators alike.

Business users can look forward to a new user interface in Blue Jeans 2.0, which makes it easier to create and manage meetings. It offers simplified connection options so that users can join meetings with a single click, as well as a streamlined in-meeting experience with new content sharing capabilities. With the advent of WebRTC, Blue Jeans is not one to be left in the dust, with a browser video experience for those that enable WebRTC as well as those that do not. It’s even easier to schedule meetings, as that can be done from Google Calendar or Microsoft Outlook.

Of course, IT administrators will appreciate the 2.0 improvements as well. It offers new administrative tools, such as customized branding options, group level permission controls, and APIs for customized user provisioning. This gives them greater visibility and control over who’s conferencing and what goes on in there, keeping everyone on the level.

"We're in the midst of a transformation in enterprise video conferencing as the cloud and video enabled mobile devices change where, when and how people collaborate across the globe," says Krish Ramakrishnan, the CEO and co-founder of Blue Jeans Network. "In this new world, face-to-face interaction is an absolute requirement, and connecting people with their peers, partners and customers no matter what devices they use is the key to fueling progress and productivity. Our growth speaks to our ability to deliver a video collaboration service built for today's workforce."

With the release of Blue Jeans 2.0, the company’s likely to continue its streak of growth into yet another year. Being able to communicate easily across devices is a valuable tool, one that many companies are putting to use through Blue Jeans, and even more are likely to start now that the latest version is out.
