InterviewRTC Brings WebRTC to the Video Interview

We use the Web to communicate for almost everything today – from e-mail and social media to chat and video conferencing, the Internet enables us to share content with anyone, anywhere. Web-based real-time communications (WebRTC) is the fast-growing capability to communicate over a Web browser with no need to download any plug-ins or software.

Video is one of the most popular uses of the Web. According to Cisco, the number of Internet video users is predicted to increase from 792 million in 2011 to 1.5 billion in 2016, and by 2016, 833 days worth of video will travel the Internet every second.

WebRTC is especially helpful to businesses. Instead of traveling for meetings, many trips can be eliminated and replaced with the computer. WebRTC encourages innovation for other uses in the enterprise, like in delivering customer service via the contact center and collaborating in online sessions.

Another way WebRTC is impacting businesses today is with the hiring process – more than 63 percent of human resources managers conduct video interviews today and 13 percent or organizations expect to use video more frequently to meet with applicants in the next three years.

InterviewStream, a provider of pre-recorded and live video interviewing solutions, recently implemented WebRTC technology, called InterviewRTC, to transform the video interview experience with HD video, clear sound and improved stability.

InterviewRTC enables browser-to-browser applications for video interviewing and allows for more one-on-one interviews on the go, as it strengthens the quality of mobile video communications and offers capabilities for mobile devices like laptops and iPads. It’s available in the App Store for free.

"Introducing WebRTC not only offers our clients an exclusive video interview feature, but it dramatically improves their live one-on-one interview experience with amazing picture and sound," said Randy Bitting, InterviewStream founder and CIO, in a statement. "It's easy to use, provides incredibly high quality video, and will help reduce latency issues and security concerns."

The WebRTC Conference and Expo hosts a variety of sessions that cover how businesses can benefit from the real-time communications technology. The recently held event in Atlanta saw more than 700 attendees and a strong emergence of the WebRTC ecosystem driving the use of technology. Join us in November in Santa Clara, Calif. for the next event to network, discuss and learn why WebRTC matters to you.
