Emerging Communication Technologies for Latin America Revealed


With competition slowly rising in Latin America, telecom service providers are adopting new technologies to differentiate their products and services. These emerging communication technologies and cloud solutions are being demonstrated this week at Futurecom, a telecommunications, IT and Internet event in Latin America.

One such company to showcase its communications products is cloud communications provider GENBAND. The company intends to demonstrate its IP Transformation, Unified Communications (UC), WebRTC, Over-the-Top (OTT) service, and network security solutions at the Futurecom Conference & Exhibition in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil.

In a statement, GENBAND’s chief marketing officer Brad Bush said, “Latin America is one of the most dynamic growth markets in the communications industry, so we are pleased to showcase our market-leading solutions at the most influential conference in the region.” He further added, “Our all-IP-based portfolio provides solutions to help carriers bring innovative technology and services to their customers and capitalize on the growth opportunities in the region.”

GENBAND said that it’s leading-edge IP transformation and IMS solutions offer cost-effective approach to moving to an all-IP infrastructure. While the company’s advanced UC solutions enable operators to offer their customers a completely connected user experience, whether working at home, in the office or anywhere in the world.

Similarly, GENBAND’s SPiDR WebRTC Gateway offers a comprehensive and seamless bridge between the traditional VoIP networks and the Internet to allow operators to quickly develop and deploy innovative applications that enhance customer satisfaction. Recently, the SPiDR WebRTC Gateway was honored for its superior performance as a recipient of Broadband Technology Report’s (BTR) 2013 Diamond Broadband Technology Review award. The award recognizes top products and solutions available to the cable industry as determined by a distinguished panel of independent consulting engineers.

The judges indicated that the award was given to SPiDR’s for its openness and appeal to the web development masses. In addition, the judges anticipate unexpected apps will pop up, among which will be few gems that make this “well worth pursuing.”

Now in its ninth year, the BTR Diamond Technology Reviews is a renowned industry program that was developed to recognize some of the top products and solutions available to the cable industry as determined by a distinguished panel of cable telecommunications engineering experts.
