Comverse Acquires Solaiemes, Strengthens its Service Portfolio

Business telecommunications provider Comverse announced earlier this week that it has acquired Solaiemes, a Spain-based company that helps monetize telecom service providers' digital services.

The acquisition will reportedly help Comverse further improve its Evolved Communications Suite by helping it expand its digital services portfolio. Aashu Virmani, vice president of Product Management and Product Marketing of Digital Services at Comverse, commented on this issue with his remark about the acquisition.

"Solaiemes' technology strengthens Comverse's ECS portfolio, which enables [service providers] to become digital lifestyle players by easily and quickly launching innovative digital services with means to monetize them," Virmani said.

Comverse, by absorbing Solaiemes technology, will be taking in its WebRTC Telecom Gateway and its RCS WebClient that supports RCS messaging and video capabilities. These technologies will compliment the Comverse ECS that already provides businesses with methods of communicating through Internet-based technologies.

The Comverse ECS package allows users to complete voice calls, send text and multimedia messages, and leave visual voicemails through WebRTC or a downloadable client. Comverse's other packages for ECS expand upon that basic service by allowing group chats, file transfers, video shares, geo-location information lookup, and social network information harvesting all within a centralized platform that harnesses WebRTC.

TMC awarded Comverse with "Product of the Year" for its ECS and Converse ONE products. Rich Tehrani, CEO of TMC, congratulated the company for its excellence in the past year.

"Both Comverse ONE and the Comverse Evolved Communication Suite (ECS) have demonstrated true innovation and are amongst the best solutions brought to market in the past twelve months to facilitate and monetize voice, data and video communications. I look forward to continued excellence from Comverse in 2014 and beyond," he said.
