Stinson Morrison Hecker to Open Office in Denver Tech Center

DENVER --(Business Wire)--

The law firm of Stinson Morrison Hecker LLP, based in Kansas City, Mo., announced today that on Feb. 1, 2013, the firm is opening a new office in the Denver Tech Center at 5613 DTC Parkway, Suite 970, Greenwood Village, Colo. with the addition of partners Ernie Panasci, Deborah L. Bayles, Zsolt K. Bessko, Perry Glantz and Kristin S. Godfrey, along with four associate attorneys and three staff employees.

The move strengthens two established and highly regarded banking and financial services practices. The group joining Stinson represents over 75 financial institutions, as well as other clients, throughout the Rocky Mountain and Southwest regions. Similarly, Stinson serves as counsel to more than 200 financial institutions throughout the Midwest and Southwest, including community and regional banks, and large national banks. Stinson recently ranked 4th in SNL Financial's 2011 Bank and Thrift Branch Deal Legal Adviser Rankings based on number of deals.

"We are very enthusiastic about extending our practice," said Bob Monroe, Co-Chair of Stinson's Banking and Financial Services Division. "The attorneys joining us in Denver are well respected by banks and other financial institutions throughout the western portion of the U.S."

"My colleagues in Denver and Stinson have formed solid relationships with banks and other financial institutions over the years, and that's also how we've come to know Bob and the firm," said Panasci. "By joining Stinson, we enhance services we already provide, such as banking, corporate, securities, M&A, litigation, IP and real estate. We can also now offer an expanded list of services to the financial institutions and other clients we represent."

In addition to expanding its banking practice footprint, Stinson gains an on-the-ground location from which it will be positioned to provide services to existing clients doing business in the Rocky Mountain region, including companies in the oil and gas, energy, health care, real estate and telecom industries.

The move also strengthens the position of both groups in the Phoenix market. Several attorneys joining Stinson in Denver are licensed to practice in Arizona and have already built a banking and business practice there, representing Arizona-based companies and clients doing business throughout the Southwest. Stinson has an office of 28 attorneys in Phoenix.

"It's a great fit because Stinson and the attorneys joining us have complementary expertise and an overlapping client base, in Denver and in Phoenix, both of which are important markets for us," said Mark Hinderks, Stinson's Managing Partner. "We also share a commitment to offering clients high quality, cost-effective legal services."
