Double board certified radiologist Michael Yuz, MD, MBA, is Founder & CEO of SecondOpinions.com®. Like many other successful companies, the idea for SecondOpinions.com® came about after his family experienced a medical emergency. When his son Jonathan was just three years old, Dr. Yuz and his wife discovered their son paralyzed one morning in his bed.

When they took the child to a loal pediatrician, emergency room and imaging center, doctors were puzzled. Living in a rural community at the time, no specialists were available on a weekend to examine their son. Dr. Yuz began searching the internet for the nearest specialist only to find one located hours away. "We had no other option but to drive four hours to the specialist," said Yuz. "We were so frightened but fortunately once Jonathan was examined by an expert, we learned he had a congenital condition also experienced by his grandfather when he was little. We learned it could be treated with medication. We finally had an answer and some peace of mind."

After the terrifying ordeal Dr. Yuz realized other families were facing the same challenge and had the idea of leveraging the power of the internet to bring top specialist physicians to patients around the world.
