Research and Markets: Chinese Mobile Games Developer Announces Plans for Electric VehicleDUBLIN, April 13, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Youzu Interactive has announced plans to partner with an electric vehicle manufacturer to produce a sports utility vehicle by 2018. According to reports, the Chinese mobile games developer believes increasingly autonomous vehicles will lead to occupants spending more time on online games, videos and other content. Chinese e-commerce giant Alibaba is also working with SAIC Motor to produce a connected car. Connected cars are equipped with Internet and wireless services that help the cars connected with networks or services. The connected cars M2M market is expected to grow significantly in the coming years, with one report forecasting the services segment to grow at a CAGR of 30% and the connections segment to grow at a rate of 28%. Youzu is hoping to cpitalize on the long commute times and traffic jams in China. Fully autonomous vehicles take the responsibility away from the driver and leave them free to browse their mobile devices and play games. Digital distribution has removed the need for physical discs and created ample opportunity in the online gaming market. This has led game developers to come up with different business revenue models. The market is forecast to grow at a CAGR of 11.95% by 2019 , but this figure could rise with the introduction of fully and semi autonomous cars. Another report expects fully-autonomous cars to be commercially available by 2025. Youzu's first vehicle will be an electric car capable of travelling 300 kilometres between charges. The company says the vehicle will be sold for less than $46,000 each.
