Bistri Named Cool Vendor by Gartner

Those who have been following WebRTC's progression closely for a while now are probably familiar with Bistri. After all, as soon as Google Chrome introduced support for WebRTC back in November, Bistri was ready to launch its Web-based real-time communications platform, making it one of the first companies on the scene.

Since then, Bistri has gone on to become one of the fastest growing cloud-based communication platforms based on WebRTC and was recently named as a "Cool Vendor" in the Cool Vendors in People-Centered Computing 2013 report by Gartner.

According to the report, Bistri offers the most complete suite of communications tools using WebRTC inside the Web browser today. Indeed, Bistri's service offers messaging, presence, notifications, voice and video chat, file transfer and private storage space — all in a single browser tab.

"We are honored to be highlighted by Gartner in the Cool Vendor Report just two years after we started to build Bistri from scratch," said Arnaud Budkiewicz, co-founder and CEO of Bistri. "We believe this validates the strength of the Bistri platform in delivering 'one of the best current examples of a Web Real-Time Communications solution.'"

Budkiewicz went on to add that Bistri offers a "simple and powerful way to communicate" as it removes the need to download a software client or plugin — thanks to its WebRTC base — and doesn't require registration as users can simply sign up via their Facebook or Google account or with any e-mail address. He also stated that, in the coming weeks, Bistri will open its platform to the developer community by publishing free APIs connected to its scalable backend.

Founded in 2010, Bistri is a member of the Worldwide Web Consortium (W3C) and is an official sponsor of the WebRTC Conference and Expo, where it will showcase the latest version of its communication services, as well as upcoming features.
