BurstPoint Video Recording Now Fully Compatible with Vidtel's MeetMe

Vidtel, a provider of cloud-based any-to-any video conferencing, has entered into a strategic partnership with BurstPoint Networks, a major player in video conferencing recording and streaming. This partnership is a straightforward merging of offerings, allowing companies that use video conferencing solutions powered by Vidtel to seamlessly integrate with BurstPoint's Video Communication Platform (VCP) for recording, streaming, playback and management of video communications.

Vidtel's primary offering is MeetMe, a cloud-based video conferencing service that seamlessly bridges traditional SIP and H.323 hardware endpoints, SIP soft clients, WebRTC-based services, and consumer applications such as Google Talk and Skype.

BurstPoint's capture and recording capabilities, meanwhile, are similarly broad as they are compatible with any vide-based feed from Vidtel — including WebRTC — and enable enterprise-wide streaming, distribution, and management of HD video content. Best of all, BurstPoint VCP content can be viewed from any device.

"This solution is critical for companies leveraging cloud video for business-to-business collaboration," said Alex Doyle, vice president of marketing at Vidtel. "Cloud-based video conferencing, any-to-any interoperability, and WebRTC have transformed the market, allowing any size company to leverage video for B2B communication."

MeetMe was updated with native support for WebRTC earlier this year, opening up the platform to browser-based video chatting. More recently, MeetMe received support for WebRTC-based screen and content sharing. Vidtel's use of WebRTC has been described as innovative by Phil Edholm, president of PKE Consulting and organizer of the WebRTC Conference & Expo, as the company integrates WebRTC within the MeetMe service rather than replicating the technology to replicate previous solutions.

"The adoption of video as a means of communication coupled with the number of protocols and applications in the market continues to grow. End users demand broader capabilities and more seamless integration points," stated BurstPoint Networks vice president of marketing and business development David Safaii. "The BurstPoint Vidtel channel-friendly partnership empowers any video conferencing end-user to Connect, Record, Manage and Stream simply and seamlessly, thus providing the most integrated and scalable means of video communications in the market today."
