Temasys Extends Value of WebRTC Development

The ability to communicate in real-time was a key desire behind the implementation of the traditional telephone service. Individuals didn’t want to wait days for a message to reach the intended and as commerce crossed state lines, the need to effectively communicate drew more attention.

Today, the idea of waiting even for traditional mail service seems pained. We’re accustomed to instant communications and patience isn’t something we have in spades. This becomes even more apparent when video enters the mix. We want to same ease and convenience we enjoy with voice, yet we sometimes lack the proper platforms to make that happen.

With WebRTC, those challenges are slowly going away. Thanks to companies like Temasys Communications, access to the resources needed to extend the value of WebRTC are becoming readily available. As the Singapore-based company announced the launch of WebRTC platform, Skyway, businesses and developers gained access to tools and infrastructure to embed WebRTC into applications and devices to better support use of the open platform.

Why does it matter? WebRTC presents considerable potential across countless industries and use cases as a conferencing and collaboration resource. A collection of JavaScript APIs, it offers the opportunity to readily support activities in training, human resources, market research and even transactional data exchange.

According to Temasys CEO, Chip Wilcox, tech companies are focused on delivering innovations that disrupt and transform the ways in which people communicate. Temasys, in particular is developing and validating video, audio and chat solutions powered by WebRTC. As a result, customers can easily deploy and scale real-time communications solutions designed to readily integrate with already established online communities.

Even with these developments, the company is quick to highlight that WebRTC is still at this point just an API. To meet market expectations and truly support the demands of the user, additional technologies have to be developed. Temasys is hoping to help fill the gap by providing customers with the APIs, SDKs and CMS widgets needed to create these technologies.

To better demonstrate its role in this space, Temasys was on hand for this year’s WebRTC Conference & Expo. Company representatives shared a demonstration of the tools readily available to clients. To get the full scoop, check out their demonstration in this video from the event.
