One of the main topics of conversation at the recent WebRTC Conference & Expo in Atlanta was just how simple or difficult is it to actually implement WebRTC into an existing infrastructure? When it comes to mobile devices, Imagination Technologies has things covered from just about every angle.
The company, which specializes in an array of communication solutions, offers SDKs providing everything needed to easily deploy WebRTC for both wireless and wireline devices. They also have SDKs for VoIP and VoLTE, V.VoIP (voice plus video over IP) and Rich Communications Suite (RCS 5.0), which means they have all the tools and codecs in place to ensure a high-quality WebRTC implementation.
According to Saraj Mudigonda, business development manager at Imagination, the company enables more than six billion mobile products through its solutions and has a great deal of experience with improving the customer experience through technology refinements and enhancements.
“It’s a completely native, mobile SDK,” said Mudigonda of Imagination’s WebRTC offering for Android and iOS. Beyond being a WebRTC SDK, the solution offers audio processing and QoS enhancements that make it a valuable tool for any developer.
Part of the company’s larger portfolio of Ensigma Communications solutions, the SDK is essentially an all-purpose WebRTC media engine available as a turnkey client that includes call management software, a SIP stack and a variety of other features. Voice quality is ensured via acoustic echo cancellation and noise cancellation and it also features dynamic video quality management (DVQM) and enhanced voice quality management (EVQM) to provide the highest levels of service.
Imagination went beyond talking about their product at WebRTC Expo and actually demonstrated a call using several iPads. Mudigonda said that even in crowded WiFi environments like at the event, packet loss is mitigated using their built-in QoS technologies.
