Web Real Time Communications, also known as WebRTC, is quickly taking over the communications landscape. The easy, live communications capabilities have changed the way information is delivered and received.
Now that many are aware of the benefits and want in on the communications innovation, developers will be tasked with building and integrating WebRTC into devices, websites, browsers and apps.
To make this job less cumbersome for both enterprises and developers, Singapore-based Temasys has launched Skylink – a WebRTC-powered platform that is both stable and secure. The offering is built entirely on Amazon Web Services (AWS) and together with the Skylink API (SkylinkJS) – which is immediately available via the Temasys developer portal, users have the tools they need to quickly and easily add WebRTC to any app or website, in just hours.
Research firm Smith’s Point Analytics has said the market for cloud-based RTC is set to be worth $4.8 billion by 2018. Not just live voice communications are possible browser to browser, but the exchange of files, gaming and even financial transactions make this technology an attractive one for industries spanning tele-health, education and even contact centers.
In an exclusive interview with INTERNET TELEPHONY magazine, Chip Wilcox, CEO of Temasys Communications said the addition of a data channel offers a chance for significant opportunities.
“We already see use cases in online gaming and transactions, including the under-developed financial transactions market and the rapidly expanding peer-to-peer payments industry. Temasys foresees that the availability of data channels will signify the most disruptive technology within WebRTC, and we are already working with a leading financial services provider in this field.”
Wilcox is participating in numerous sessions and panels at the upcoming WebRTC World Conference & Expo V covering numerous topics from WebRTC in Finance to Internet Explorer issues and more.
Temasys is a Platinum sponsor of WebRTC Conference & Expo, taking place Nov. 18 – 20 in San Jose, Calif. Visit Temasys in booth #54.
