Zycoo Zooms into 2016 on Innovation

Zycoo is a Chinese IP PBX manufacturer, targeted at SMBs with a clear focus on development. One third of Zycoo’s team is Research & Development (R&D), and at ITEXPO Florida the firm had much innovation on display and promises much more to come in 2016.

2015 proved to be a big year for Zycoo, with releases that included the iSpeaker and paging management system (PMS) to integrate with the CooVox IP Phone system. The firm also released its CooCall softphone app, which supports both Android and Apple and is free for all customers and distributors. In addition, 2015 saw serious sales growth for the firm’s newest branch offices in the U.K and Dubai.

Looking ahead to 2016, Zycoo’s development team has had its nose to the grindstone to release version 2 of the CooVox system with a more powerful CPU and RAM to greatly improve performance—feature rich and ready to meet business demand head on.

The firm is also planning to plunge into WebRTC with the move from Asterisk 1.8 to Asterisk 13. Clients are actively seeking a firm to meet the growing real-time demand. In addition to WebRTC, Asterisk 13 also provides improved security to ensure safe transmissions.

It appears that since the new version released, the next step is CooVox embedded systems. The projection is that by the end of March Zycoo will release an open development platform for customers to install their own software. Zycoo’s Business Development Manager for North and South America Amanda Liu explained, “Once the customers provide requirements, we will do the research and will release the platform.”

The Chinese company is also promising new firmware for its Unified Communications platform. Liu noted, “Last year got very complicated for UC,” but this year delivered a new base product to make configuration a snap—basically plug and play.

2016 will also serve as the year Zycoo releases its own gateway. Liu highlighted that customers want to deal with one vendor, providing a gateway takes the firm one step closer to that role. Taking a measured approach, Zycoo is conducting research and collecting information from distributors with the hopes that the gateway will be available in Q3 2016.

As VoIP adoption and innovation grows it is important to find a reliable vendor—Zycoo offers end-to-end support, competitive pricing and customized solutions for integrators. As Liu put it, “For everything related to VoIP, you can find your solution at Zycoo,” stay tuned as it sounds like Zycoo is hard at work to ensure 2016 can build on the success of 2015.
