Glip is Popular Among RingCentral Customers

RingCentral has had a lot to celebrate lately. The cloud business communications and collaboration solutions provider recently outlined the massive success of the RingCentral Connect Platform, which surpassed one million API requests per day in only a year since its launch. At the same time, RingCentral is celebrating the success of Glip, which allows users to perform various collaborative tasks in a single app, rather than a number of separate ones.

Glip integration was announced in November, meaning it hasn’t spent much time as part of RingCentral’s portfolio—which is what makes its success so impressive. In only a handful of months, Glip has achieved significant traction among RingCentral customers, achieving three times the usage since acquisition than it had attained previously.

Glip’s messaging and collaboration capabilities were specifically integrated into the RingCentral Office cloud PBX suite of services, giving business professionals access to multi-modal communication for greater productivity. These new capabilities enable effective team communication, file sharing, task assignment, one-click meetings, and project management. In addition, they integrate with other popular cloud applications like Google Drive, Asana, Github, Jira, and Zendesk, to name a few.

In the vein of far-reaching communications and collaboration, RingCentral also announced plans to unveil a new capability at Enterprise Connect 2016 that will enable users to escalate a messaging conversation to a voice call. To accomplish this, RingCentral’s new capability will leverage the enterprise cloud phone system, along with the company directory and WebRTC-enabled browsers.

In other words, RingCentral plans to allow users to experience real-time voice calls natively in the browser with the click of a button, without the need for a separate application.

“Businesses view messaging and collaboration as a must-have in today’s workplace rather than a nice-to-have,” said Peter Pezaris, vice president of Application Engineering at RingCentral. “RingCentral is the industry’s first unified cloud communications and collaboration provider to offer a high-quality enterprise voice experience with a fully featured messaging and collaboration solution so businesses can improve customer and peer engagement while reducing the complexity and cost of enterprise communications.”
