AGT Previews New Video Conferencing Solutions

AGT has a treat for InfoComm 2013 attendees, with a special preview of its new desktop video client and Encore B2B mobile video app. Both solutions are delivered through Video-as-a-Service, and can connect desktop computers, mobile devices, and of course, WebRTC, for easy video conferencing experiences.

With the desktop video client from AGT, Pac and Mac desktops can hold video conferences with HD conference room systems, as well on Web browsers and with tablets, smartphones and Microsoft Lync. The screen layouts are completely customizable, and it offers features such as e-mail/URI dialing, real-time reporting and other such useful additions. Of course, the new client will also feature integration with WebRTC and GoogleTalk, making it easier to connect with more people.

Meanwhile, there’s also the new version of the EncoreB2B mobile video app. It’s been completely redesigned, offering a better user interface, a full set of features, and its usual support for business-to-business video collaboration. It’s compatible with both iOS and Android devices, while AGT manages application development processes for any partners that would like to sell their own versions.

In order to connect between laptops and mobile devices, AGT’s solutions use a Mobile Pathway Protocol to traverse firewalls. It uses open and secure standard Internet ports, removing the technical difficulties normally associated with connecting between devices and endpoints.

"Being a provider in a market that is both crowded and experiencing dramatic growth, it is critical for us to deliver managed and cloud video solutions that are not only purpose-built for today's high demand for agnostic video conferencing, but provide our end users and partners an easy and intuitive method for conferencing from any platform," says AGT’s CEO, Ben Atha. "In addition to offering a variety of deployment options, our new desktop video client and redesigned mobile video apps demonstrate unprecedented capabilities, including e-mail dialing and lookup services, video neighborhoods for cooperative enterprises, a unique firewall traversal technique and full branding."

While the services shown will not be available until around Q3 of this year, they’re already being demonstrated at InfoComm. They make great use of the WebRTC technology that we currently have, allowing people to communicate and hold conferences without any special systems or downloads. Given the importance of ubiquitous video conferencing, AGT’s services can prove very effective upon their release.
