Plantronics Supports Contextual Awareness and WebRTC

Plantronics is helping move WebRTC forward with new advancements in WebRTC integration, which helps improve communication for professionals and end-users everywhere. It’s also revealed new UC hardware products, as well as contextually-aware software applications from its partners, helping make it easier for people to communicate no matter where they are or what they’re doing.

There are a variety of products coming from Plantronics, including the Voyager Legend UC headset, which works with computers, mobile phones, and tablets alike, with a Smart Sensor that reacts when a headset is put on. The Calisto family has been expanded with the Calisto 620, a speakerphone that can connect to multiple devices through Bluetooth.

It also has the Blackwire corded USB headsets, including the new 500 and 700 series; these can connect through the USB or to a Bluetooth enabled phone or tablet, with a detachable cable and clip for mobile chats that can last up to 10 hours. The Savi headset line has grown too with the Savi 700 series, which features wideband audio and DECT wireless technology at up to 350 feet from the base, whether said base is a PC, desk phone or mobile phone.

Of course, Plantronics has a vested interest in WebRTC. After all, for real-time communication over the Web to work, high definition audio quality is a must, and that’s what Plantronics can provide with its headsets. The software and hardware solutions from Plantronics are a great help for workers relying on computers and mobile devices for communication, and WebRTC will make their work even more efficient.

“Smart devices and applications have dramatically changed the way we do business and live our day-to-day lives,” says Joe Burton, senior VP and CTO of Plantronics. “From context-aware applications that make business run smoother and faster to WebRTC innovation that can effectively make the browser a collaboration platform, the next few months will deliver exciting changes in the communications industry.”

Plantronics is doing all it can to help make WebRTC accessible and easy for users, with headsets and software that make for the best communication experience they can offer. The company has even been recognized by Frost & Sullivan with a Visionary Innovation Award thanks to its accomplishments in UC&C and customer care.

Needless to say, it’s sure to bring the same innovation and power to WebRTC.
