Vidtel Talks WebRTC at ITEXPO Miami

When Vidtel boasts any-to-any video conferencing, it means it. The company’s solutions can deal with interoperability issues by connecting various conferencing systems, helping people everywhere communicate no matter what they use. At ITEXPO Miami, Stefanie Mosca of Webrtcworld spoke with Vidtel’s CEO, Scott Wharton, to discuss what Vidtel has to offer, and the future of WebRTC.

Vidtel uses the cloud to remove the cost and complexity of video conferencing, helping to solve the issue of interoperability. With its Any-to-Any multi-party video conferencing service, and solutions such as Vidtel Connect and Vidtel Gateway, people can use different video conferencing solutions and programs to connect with one another in a way that is normally not possible.

Now, with the advent of WebRTC, Vidtel is ready to improve video conferencing even further. It launched a new WebRTC offering at ITEPXO, and is already enjoying positive feedback. It provides a gateway between WebRTC and standard enterprise systems, offering the high quality of enterprise systems to everyone.

“If you remember when you used to have a video that you were watching on the internet, you had to associate it with a file and download it and it was hard to figure out how to make that work,” says Wharton, as he explains the ease and convenience of WebRTC, and what Vidtel is doing. “Today, you just click on a button and you watch videos. And we take for granted that you can do that today, so we’re doing the same thing with video conferencing, where you can just go into a web browser and click, and then you can be in a high quality video call, it’s as easy as that.”

Vidtel’s WebRTC conferencing app is as easy as just opening a Web browser, because that’s pretty much all it takes. It’s already earning great praise, and will soon be made more readily available. There are plans to expand it to new customers and partners, including more browsers and mobile platforms.

While video conferencing may still be rife with interoperability issues, Vidtel is helping solve that, and in doing so, makes communication all the more unified. Whether it’s in the cloud or through WebRTC, Vidtel knows how to make the most convenient, most connected, video experience possible.
