Blue Jeans Intros 'All You Can Meet' Plan

Blue Jeans Network has made it possible for people to connect with video conferencing across a variety of programs and tools, from browsers Skype to Lync. Now it’s offering a new plan that can help companies offer its service to more employees at an affordable price.

The “All You Can Meet” (AYCM) plan from Blue Jeans is a new addition to its previous three plans. It’s a tiered offering based on both the size of the company and the number of active users; “active,” in this case, refers to users who hold at least one meeting a month, but those who are less frequent can still use Blue Jeans’ services at no additional cost.

This plan offers full deployment for all employees, offering unlimited usage at a flat annual fee.   And thanks to the company’s broad interoperability, business and consumer endpoints including Cisco, Polycom, Lifesize, Microsoft Lync, Skype, Google Video, WebRTC Browser, mobile devices and more can be used.

The cost is based on the size of the company, ranging from $50 per user to $10, so that larger companies with more active users will not have to pay cripplingly large fees. Small businesses may pay more per user, but they will find that the unlimited usage it provides is far more cost-effective than other plans for their size, as they get much more usage without having to pay much more.

Until now, Blue Jeans offered three plans, offering varying subscription models and usage. This new fourth plan provides an attractive starting point as well as a ramp to more active use and adoption, and those who tested it during the plans initial trials were not only more likely to sign on, but usage and adoption grew ten times faster than for typical customers. Clearly those who tested the new plan enjoyed it, and Blue Jeans is confident that more will feel the same upon its official release.

“What we’re doing with our service in general, and with these plans in particular, is we’re trying to make it as easy and carefree as possible for our customers to embrace video collaboration, and there’s two elements to that,” explains Stu Aaron, chief commercial officer for Blue Jeans Networks. “The first is the nature of the Blue Jeans service itself, which is truly any-to-any. The second part of it is: with this new pricing plan, we take all the concerns out of the equation. You no longer have to worry about encouraging adoption, we really make it easy to extend the service to everyone in your company and let everybody benefit from it; everybody can have an account and unlimited usage, so the IT department no longer has to worry and lets everyone take full advantage of the service.”

Of course, the other offerings from Blue Jeans are also improving, in order to not only match the new All You Can Meet option, but to provide an improved experience for users of all the plans. Blue Jeans is continuing to add new endpoints, features and integrations, in order to bring together the billions of people who use video conferencing and collaboration in ways never thought possible before. “It’s about the obsolescence of the telephone,” Mr. Aaron explains, before adding, “Except for when you’re driving or in your pajamas.”

With this new option, businesses of all sizes can access the services Blue Jeans provides at an affordable rate that scales according to their usage, needs and size. It’s a great way to connect people through video, voice and instant messaging no matter what system or endpoint they’re using. Now, an entire company can provide its services to its users at a consistent and low cost, gaining unlimited services that everyone can use.
