For WebRTC, Dialogic Has a Lot to Offer

Every day, there are a growing set of advancements in terms of technology, from communications to computing and well beyond. Web-based real-time communications (WebRTC) is a comparatively new technology, yet is still generating a sizable number of advancements on almost a daily basis. Dialogic's product line is set to offer up much of the necessary infrastructure to run WebRTC, offering up a variety of products that will help this new technology reach its ultimate potential.

Not only does Dialogic offer a set of important solutions, but Dialogic can also field a set of additional value-added services and cloud-based features that give this new technology plenty of room to run. Dialogic's offerings are tailor-made for a WebRTC environment.

For instance, WebRTC depends on bandwidth. Making the connection between users, either by plain audio or full video, requires bandwidth to work through, and Dialogic offers a variety of session bandwidth optimizers geared toward improving the current network rather than having to build it out in a bid to get more of that precious capacity that powers things like WebRTC.

While that's certainly helpful, Dialogic also offers a set of products specifically geared toward improving WebRTC operations, particularly in terms of the media server, on which much of WebRTC depends. With a large number of WebRTC applications requiring a level of rich media mixing, as well as easy connectivity and software virtualization, Dialogic's media server solution, as represented by the PowerMedia XMS line, allows for a large number of potential WebRTC uses to be met. The media server, therefore, represents one of the biggest parts of the WebRTC equation, with many critical uses of WebRTC technology depending on a media server to be put to use in the first place.

Dialogic also offers a substantial number of other solutions that can either promote WebRTC or work alongside it, helping this new technology to overcome some of its limitations and fit seamlessly into the framework of modern enterprise. Support and services for WebRTC are also planned for release this year, giving Dialogic an array of offerings in the field.

With Dialogic's role in the WebRTC marketplace clearly established, it should come as little surprise that Jim Machi, vice president of product management for Dialogic, will be presenting a keynote address during the upcoming WebRTC Conference & Expo, June 25-27 at the Cobb Galleria in Atlanta, Ga. Machi's keynote, set to run Thursday, June 27, at 4 p.m., will be entitled “WebRTC: No Media Server, No Disruption.” Potentially, there may even be room to show off a few new ways that Dialogic is looking to make an impact on WebRTC as a whole. Either way, it should make for a very exciting show for those interested in the present, and the future, of WebRTC.
