OnSIP Joins WebRTC Conference & Expo, Offers Major Prospect in WebRTC

For those looking forward to the WebRTC Conference & Expo, the event that brings together developers and decision makers for networking, discussions and demos, there's one more reason in a rapidly growing list of reasons to be there: OnSIP has announced its new status as a silver-level sponsor at the event, along with some plans to be a presenter in the field. OnSIP brings with it a variety of new technologies and a major presence in the field of Web-based real-time communications (WebRTC).

OnSIP's co-founder and chief technology officer, John Riordan, will be offering up a speaking role in the panel discussion “100% WebRTC – Is It Practical for Your Application?” set to run Wednesday, Nov. 20, at 2:30 p.m. PT. The panel will look at a variety of points within the wider field of WebRTC, including points like bringing various older technologies into line with the WebRTC platform, issues of product development in the line, and the responses of major firms like Microsoft and Apple in the field.

OnSIP is an excellent candidate to join such an affair, of course, as the company has advanced several developments in the field of WebRTC itself, particularly in the form of its recently relaunched GetOnSIP.com system. OnSIP is the first hosted private branch exchange (PBX) provider that combines both session initiation protocol (SIP) with WebRTC to make a complete platform from which users can connect simply and effectively

GetOnSIP.com has more than 49,000 users to its credit, and that's a great start in a field that's still very much new. What's more, GetOnSIP.com users get access to perhaps one of the greatest replacements for the phone number to be released, specifically, the instant “Call Now” link that allows users to simply click a link to get access to a voice and video session, even users that aren't registered with GetOnSIP.com. OnSIP's offerings don't stop there, either; the company also boasts a line of Web phones, including one that runs on WebRTC and another that works as a Java applet.

Such technology opens up some impressive possibilities, not only in terms of communication but also in terms of customer service. While GetOnSIP.com is useful for letting individuals and businesses alike communicate back and forth, it's also useful for offering a way for customers to easily communicate with a business, including when something's gone wrong with a product. Tech support, customer care and similar issues can all get a benefit from GetOnSIP.com's easy access to voice and phone connections. Indeed, services like this and others powered by WebRTC are poised to deeply shake up the world of mobile communications as we know it.

Having OnSIP in the WebRTC Conference & Expo provides some valuable perspective on the wider industry from a firm that's bringing some powerful new uses for the platform into the field, and further illustrates just how deep into this field the conference will go. Those who plan to get into the industry, or already are, will certainly want to be on hand to check out all the work going on and get in touch with others in the field. It should be a terrific show indeed, and one that wouldn't be the same without OnSIP and the massive array of exhibitors and speakers on hand.
