Comings & Goings: Paul Yantus Joins Weemo as VP of Marketing

Weemo, a provider of real-time voice and video communication and collaboration solutions, sets out to enable video collaboration for everyone, on every platform, on every device. It’s one of the forerunners in WebRTC, the HTML5 technology making peer-to-peer real-time communication in a browser possible. The company recently brought on Paul Yantus as vice president of marketing as the company prepares to launch free video calling and video conferencing for Zimbra, a provider of a unified communications software platform.

“The Weemo team and technology were truly compelling and I believe the company is positioned to achieve accelerated growth,” said Yantus. “I was amazed at how well Weemo’s video cloud platform took the complexity out of routing and signal management to deliver high quality video calling in any environment. This platform is a developer’s dream offering security and scalability, while making integrating video calling and conferencing into any application easy.”

Paul Yantus was previously the CEO of Vizit, an independent software vendor for Microsoft SharePoint, and Executive Vice President at Captaris, where he led marketing and product management leading up to the sale of the company to Open Text, a provider of enterprise information management (EIM) solutions.

“I’m very pleased to add Paul Yantus to our Weemo team,” said Thomas Cottereau, CEO of Weemo, in a statement. “Paul brings a wealth of experience as we ramp up to bring several new solutions to market over the next six months.”

Those new solutions include the free service for Zimbra, the Weemo Zimlet, which connects users to Weemo’s video cloud platform and enables them to make video calls and share screens and files. Weemo has also focused a lot on solutions for healthcare (the company works with MediSprout and TrueVault in this industry), contact centers and enterprise collaboration markets, and will launch new solutions in those areas throughout 2014.
